An erotic and emotional deep dive into the desire for arousal through images—blending education, fiction, and relationship insight for those curious about or captivated by pictophilia.
I’m autistic, and very much a visual thinker (like many other autistics) - my memory is also highly visual - I can recall, in minute detail, images I saw decades ago… So it’s quite natural for me to recognise myself in a lot of what you wrote above… I didn’t know its name before, but I definitely qualify as a pictophiliac. I derive great pleasure from erotic imagery, either still or video, ‘in real life’ or ‘replayed’ in my mind - and the stories I write and publish on Substack are, almost invariably, the ‘scripts’ of ‘mental videos’.
For you to be able to recollect moments, you sure have a gift. I admire that and I appreciate you making a comment here and reading this post. Thank you.
One of the odd things is that somehow I always imagine that others experience the world the way that I do (a failure of imagination on my part?) - and that therefore their minds are full of the same vivid imagery mine is… But I know, really, that others don’t experience the world the way I do; and that in that regard, I am incredibly fortunate.
I think we all imagine a world, in which we all experience differently. Maybe you're not alone in having vivid images that therefore, our minds are full of. You are incredibly fortunate. Thanks again for the comment.
I want to add to this just a bit. Still images might be antidotal to porn addiction. I feel that if I click through on a vid on tiumblr, I stay longer and get less present.
Oh. I just figured out how still images work best. I’m making self love. I’ve just started. I see an image. And it invokes something an imagined first interaction between two lovers. Or just the evocative smell of suntan lotion mixed with possibly chlorine or tension. Instantly, the phone is gone, as are the images. And my consciousness, awareness, hands, and genitals are having group sex. .

I think still images are far more compelling than videos. Pictures demand action and imagining by our consciousness. Very. Very. Hot.
I agree, and thank you for giving me your time to read and to make a comment. I appreciate it.

I understand what you mean. I think when we're all into someone, we appreciate them very much more. Thank you for your comment.
